Bottom Line: Chipotle-ish Mexican place but better! I heart Qdoba. I am hooked on their chips and queso and their quesadillas are huge and delicious - perfect for sharing. So here's how it works - Qdoba uses the Subway/Chipotle assembly line method of ordering. You let them know what you want (taco, burrito, salad, quesadilla, nachos, etc.) and they get it started. Then your dish slides down the counter and another person will add your desired toppings (steak, chicken, cheese, beans, pico de gallo, etc.) Finally, you get to the register and pay. You can eat in or get it to go. One of the muy bien things about Qdoba is their new "Order with Abandon" campaign. What this means is you can get salsa, fajita veggies, queso or guacamole on the side without paying extra. Yes that is right, a scope of guac for no extra charge, how reckless! Now about those fajita vegetables, if you want to add some additional nutrition to your meal, I love that you can get it with fajita veggies. For example, if you are feeling guilty about the cheese quesadilla you are getting ready to chow down on, just have them pack some fajita veggies in there for no extra charge. As my Yelp followers know (kidding, I don't think I have any religious followers of my reviews), I am addicted to Diet Coke. For that reason, I love that Qdoba has the Coca-Cola "Freestyle" soda fountain - the fancy thing that lets you create up to 100 different flavor options. Of course with all of those options I still go for the Diet Coke. This location is kinda small and a little warn, but it still satisfies my cihp and queso cravings just fine.

So if I was a smart-a** I'd say "I liked this place better when it was called Chipotle" But I'm not so I guess I'll do a full on write up. The parking can range from okay to nightmarish, depending on the time of day you visit. The food is okay, but really is derivative of Chipotle. Not great, not awful. If you're reasonably hungry this place will rock. Nothing to blow your socks off tho.

Bad customer service ! Young staff is mostly unprofessional and act rude during weekend night hours.

Had not been to a Qdoba in a while, and we stopped here because we had an activity nearby. To my surprise they have indeed tried to turn this into a clone of Chipotle. Gone is the old menu, and welcome to the assembly line experience. On the plus side, they now have the new Coke machines that let you customize your soft drink. The pulled pork on my burrito was bland (a new "chipotle crema" adds some kick). The vaunted guacamole (though now a free add-on) was bitter, I guess from the ubiquitous lime juice (Hey gringos, Mexicans NEVER put lime juice in guacamole! Take it from someone who lived there for 30 yrs). The place was grimey, with sticky chairs and tables. The music was pathetic, and so loud, that we couldn't wait to leave.

This is-was the hangout of the younger generation in Ellicott City. The environment thus so is very up beat and everyone is having a good time, even the employees. The manager is very friendly, and the food is always fresh. The place is not the place you want to go to at rush time though, because the line has, and will be out the door for the forseeable future. The parking could be better, but you can't complain about that, and it takes absolutely no time to get the food ready.

Good food, friendly staff, and quick service. The line can get pretty long around dinner but it'll go fast. Make sure to get a rewards card so you can get some free food now and then.

People aren't really the nicest whenever I'm there. When I ask for extra of something, I'm always met with attitude. Gave it a few tries but I'm not fan and I won't be back.

I love Qdoba, it is fast and always delicious. I love their new option to pick a combo, I like to try different things so it allows me to get the tacos and nachos without it being too much to eat. It is the perfect amount. The only complaint I have is when they put the Mild Salsa on my tacos, they never drain the salsa enough and it makes my tacos, nachos, and my burritos very soggy. They need to work on draining the Salsa before putting it on anything. No one wants the salsa juice sogging up their burritos. Very unpleasant. I might say something in person the next time I go here, but I hope this improves, or I might have to stop coming here.

A local place to get a burrito for lunch. Big portions. It's fast food but better than any burger joint.

Qdoba gets neglected a lot ever since Chipotle got so popular. I think Qdoba is probably the best alternative to Chipotle if you can't find a Chipotle or don't want to wait in the lines at one either. There's hardly ever a line at any Qdoba. I think they are continually improving the quality of the food, however I like the way the rice, chicken, and even the tortillas are at Chipotle better than Qdoba. I'm also not a fan of how I have to pay extra for the chopped peppers and onions as a topping, when it's no charge at Chipotle. Most of the time, the chicken at Qdoba is very good, but it just will never have the same taste as Chipotle. I would call Qdoba the next best thing to Chipotle. It's not as good, but it's close.

I love the food here (used to get it every day for work), and the staff is friendly, as usual. Unfortunately, parking is a PAIN to find during lunch... Otherwise, a great experience.

I love this Qdoba! Management changed a while back so its different but the food is just as good. The service here is nice just try to get there when its not packed with high school kids coming after soccer practice. They open pretty late so go for a late snack. Burritos, quesadillas, and 3 cheese nachos are what I always get. The mexican gumbo is pretty under rated but try it on a cold wintery night. It'll keep you warm.

If I'd never eaten anywhere else, Qdoba'd be a'ight, I suppose. But, everything at this chain invites comparison with places that do it better. Qdoba, you wanna step to Chipotle? Not with those spongy, almost soggy tortillas. You wanna play with the locals and their carnitas? You need some more flavor, homes. And less juice. See above. Mushy tortillas + pork swimming in juice = a mess, bro. Sure, you got salsa just like those dudes over at Baja Fresh, but bring the heat somewhere. On the plus side, you're fast. You're clean. You're inexpensive. My brain says "Meh," but my heart won't let me go lower than "A-OK". You're trying, and that's what counts.

I used to eat here every week in high school. Oh Qdoba, you think you'd be nicer to me after all of my patronage here. I was saddened the day the student cups (free drink with student ID) shrank in size, but since they were free, I'm not really complaining. I usually get a chicken or steak queso burrito, double wrapped (I do love Qdoba's steamed tortillas for some reason). I think the staff here is trained to be stingy, because I've been opting out of beans and asking for more rice instead, and they're either reluctant or stingy with the portions. If I come to Qdoba, it's usually for the steamed tortilla and variety of flavors. If I want better ingredients, it's off to Chipotle.

Great place for a burrito or quesedilla..yum. This is a great location, right off Route 40 in Ellicott City, although parking can be tough.

A good place to take the family for a nice healthy and filling meal. A good clean place with nice decor and ESPN playing on the big screen.

I have tried this place many times. If you took the rice away you would starve. They could do better and be nicer. The girl taking my order could care less. Very little meat and a ton of rice in my burrito. If taste is important then it is not worth it.

This place is phenomenal for a quick bite. I can only comment on the service at the Ellicott city location because that is the only one I go to. The service here is excellent. The employees are always smiling, the lines move very fast even when it seems never ending. The restaurant area is always spotless, which amazes me because there is always a somewhat high school crowd hanging out inside. The food always seems fresh and is consistently flavorful. I have tried a little of everything and can honestly say I have enjoyed it all. To top it off they sell Arizona Green Tea instead of some cheap coke or pepsi knock-off. The knock-off is still available but it's the Arizona that I love. The only down side to the location is well...location. There is not a lot of stores in the strip mall but the parking is minimal. Although if you wait long enough you can usually find someone leaving and grab their spot. I drive a full size pick-up and there is definitely not a lot of room for maneuvering.

The "pick two" is the best thing to ever happen to this menu! Gumbo and quesadilla all the way!!

We eat here a lot. Good food. They move fast at this one. I've been to other Qdobas (out of state) and they were very inconsistent, confused and slow. I love the chips. Sometimes they are a little more salty than they should be, but they're typically very tasty with the queso. They should give you more chips than they do. There's one guy who I believe is a manager whom I like to refer to as "The Chip Nazi." Once he gave me a scoop and a half and I asked for a little more and he said he'd have to charge me. Yeah. The only bad experience we've had is that there was one instance a rubber band was in the queso dip. This is after a year of eating there. Definitely out of the norm for this place, but it's one of those things you don't forget once it happens.

Lady who prepared my food was very rude and made kids meal size naked burrito for me. I asked her to put more lettuce, and she added pinchful of lettuce. Food does not taste as good as Chipotle.

This Qdoba is my weekend office pit stop for a quick meal. I work in the E.C. on Saturdays and it's nice to have something other than bread, cheese and meat. The cashier is quite the flirtatious Casanova, but not in a sleazy/scary way. If you're a guy, I don't think you'll get the queen treatment, but I've been wrong before! I like Qdoba because of their vegetarian options. If I'm all salad-ed out, it's nice to know that I can order a grilled veggie burrito or any of the other vegetarian options. Qdoba is very similar to Chipotle with more options. They have the same serving-line style of meal preparation and they've got all the classic Tex-Mex goodies. Qdoba is definitely the reliable lunch place for me on the weekend; plenty of food for a decent price. And they've got some yummy queso dip when you need your moo-fix.

One of my favorite places to grab dinner on hectic nights. Sometimes the line can be long, but the service here is fast. Sometimes, it seems too fast as I try to remember 4 different orders for my family as things are passed down the line and a couple different Qdoba employees try to talk to me at once. I have a Rewards card, and I highly recommend it! With orders for my family, it seems like no time at all before we receive a a free entree. I have never been disappointed with the food from here.

If you like Chipotle, you will love Qdoba. Fast, clean, fresh, tasty, and filling. It's great place to pop in for a quick lunch. I was shocked at the size of the burrito they gave me, and just as surprised that I managed to eat the whole thing.

Good fresh food, reasonable prices, what more can you ask for in a chain restaurant?

What to say - Qdoba is one of those consistently tasty places, not bad for a chain and the price. Clean and efficient.

The service here is exceptionally poor. The food is good but the people are rude!!! The good reviews regarding service must be from family members. If you ask them to add anything extra, your request is ignored. They don't even acknowledge what you are saying or indicate that there is an extra charge. I wouldn't mind paying extra but the people are so rude that I will not be returning.

We eat here all the time- I think the food is addicting! The staff is nice and they are super fast with orders! The queso is amazing- a lot of times I end up eating it instead of my meal. My one recommendation is to pick up a Qdoba rewards card! We went about 3 times with ours and we already have a free entree. They're free and you get points for the food you buy. Amazing!

"WE'RE HUNGRY!!!" "WE DON'T WANT LEFTOVERS" "WE WANT TO EAT NOW" This is my "Groundhog's Day." With 5 kids spaced over 10 years, I have heard these words ring my ears in my sleep for over 20 years. No, not in dreams....but literally. And we practice the time honored tradition of gavage during Thanksgiving and Christmas. And even inviting friends over and having people take food home, I still have 3.565 lbs of ham and 5.321 lbs of stuffing chilling in the fridge. So I picked Qdoba, a new restaurant on the block. My family doesn't go or enter a restaurant, we DESCEND on it. Like locusts on the savannah. We create a line where none existed. But there was a line and we waited....and waited. We finally ordered and had: 1. Pork taco salad: Excellent tasting taco salad. Probably the best I have had at any restaurant. Pork was not overdone and dessicated. The meat and veggies were layered in a way where you didn't feel like it was partitioned like a TV dinner. 2. Steak burrito: Very tasty. Steak was tender for a fast food joint. 3. Vegetarian burrito: More rice than beans in their version. Strong overtones of cilantro and flavorings in the white rice Not your usual Mexican tomato/cumin/chile/red rice. Very tasty 4. Bean and cheese burrito. What can I say? This is what this kid likes. 5. Shredded beef burrito: Tasted good as well. I would personally prefer the steak burrito. These burritos are not brick heavy with beans. The burritos are substantial but not heavy. 6. Steak nachos. This is a meal in itself. There are lots of ingredients and not just a pile of chips with a little cheese on top. All the flavors blend well. Quality of the food was excellent. 5 stars for a fast food. Much better than Baja Fresh. Service: 1 star. The workers behind the counter clearly didn't want to be there and it showed. I asked to put a little of everything on top of my taco salad and all the server did was scoop one salsa on top and passed it down the line. There were no signs on what the toppings were. I had to peer over the counter and look on their stations to see a variety of sauces and salsas. So while I was looking at the salsas, they passed my taco salad down the cash register. The manager was manning the cash register and wanted to charge me $0.50 for each topping I added on the taco salad!! Where is the truth in advertising here? They said the toppings were free. Even though they just opened up, they already have the pressure of penny pinching at the expense of not letting the customer get what they want. Too bad. The original recipes taste great and that's why the high scores....it would have been higher if the service was friendly. The food is great now...but I wouldn't be surprised to eventually see the corporate MBA's cutting corners with the recipes and screw up the food like they did at KFC.

The food is made quick and tastes as good as it gets, as far as fast food Mexican food goes. My favorite dishes here are the Chicken Quesadillas and the Steak Burrito. Filling and satisfying at a great price!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
